Ultrasound can be used to take images of soft tissue damage. Musculoskeletal ultrasound may be used to diagnose rotator cuff tears in the shoulder, Achilles injuries, and more. This is different from the therapeutic ultrasound often used by physical therapists and chiropractors; this ultrasound produces real-time images of the body's soft tissues so that we can identify damage, bursitis, tendinosis, bone spurs, and more. Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is often just as effective as an MRI, but at a fraction of the cost!
Ultrasound is also used to provide imaging guidance for all of our major joint injections to ensure accuracy. Ultrasound-guided injections at our Kalispell facility are more effective and safer than "blind" injections. These guided injections can be used to treat arthritis, rotator cuff tears, and much more.
